St. George’s Church in Feodosia

The Church of St. George in Feodosia is one of the monuments of the multi-ethnic history of the Crimea. The Church of St. George, built in the 15^th century, originally belonged to the Armenian Catholic community of the city. It was the main Church of the vast St. George monastery. Today it is a monument of architecture of the 15^th century.

The peculiarity of the appearance of the Church of St. George is that the building consists of several parts of different periods of construction. The ancient Eastern part is made of rubble and covered with semicircular arches. Completed in the 19^th century, the middle and Western parts are already made of processed stone. The middle part of the temple is covered by a dome on an octagonal drum, the Western part has a vaulted ceiling.

Currently, the Church of St. George is closed to the public and needs restoration.
