The mosque\u2019s highlight is a tall minaret tower crowned with a massive white dome. The construction was initiated by President Nursultan Nazarbayev, with the support of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.<\/p>\n
Akmeshit Mosque is capable of accommodating some eight thousand worshippers and occupies an area of 8.5 thousand square meters. The mosque and the adjacent territory also contain a hall for ritual washing, an imam’s house, a large and a small prayer halls, a library, a dining room, and two parking lots.<\/p>\n
The mosque\u2019s facade and gates are decorated with Arabic script, calling the name of the Prophet.
