This is a voluntary program for Hotels, Restaurants, Travel Companies in Russia which awards certificate of \u00abIndia Friendly\u00bb to them once they have tuned to, serve the unique needs of the Indian Tourist. The project \u00abIndia Friendly\u00bb realized in Q4 of 2016 is an initiative of Russian Information Centre in India, with the support of the Federal\u00a0 Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, National\u00a0 Tourist Office \u2018Visit Russia\u2019, Russian Union of Travel Industry,\u00a0 St.Petersburg State University of Economics, Tourism Department.<\/p>\n

“India is a dynamically developing country. In the near future, we will see a sharp increase in demand for trips to Russia from Indian tourists, especially from the rapidly developing middle class. Indians would like to feel a personalized welcome, they has its own specific features that need to be taken into account when organizing tours. India Friendly program should facilitate dialogue and establish communication between supply and demand in our country, work on which officially starts today in St. Petersburg<\/em>,” commented Sergey Korneev, Deputy Head of Rosturizm, who oversees the Visit Russia project, on the signing of the agreement (1)<\/a><\/p>\n

It is rightly said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. We have hardly treaded much on the path of our journey to our goal but have so much to be thankful for so far.\u00a0From the day of\u00a0 29 February 2016 when we initiated the \u00abIndo-Russia Tourism Exchange\u00bb program at\u00a0 Russian Center for Science & Culture in Mumbai to now, here at SATTE 2017, New Delhi, we have crossed some key milestones and the speed at which developments are happening has been a strong motivator for Russian Information Center in India.<\/em><\/p>\n

Along the way we engaged with the Tourism authorities and stakeholders in Russia & India, conducted FAM and Press tours to Russia and vice versa to India for the travel trade community, roadshows, presentations to promote Russia across key cities in India.\u00a0 On 30 September 2016, the \u00abIndia Friendly\u00bb program was signed in St. Petersburg with the support of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, National Tourist Office \u00abVisit Russia\u00bb, Russian Union of Travel Industry, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Tourism Department paving the path for many future destination education and promotion activities.<\/em><\/p>\n

With these quick developments and last years statistics showing a healthy growth of 18% we can be assured that out-bound tourism to Russia is poised for the leap!\u00a0You can look forward to Russian Information Center in India with respect to regions, packages and guidance on any topic with respect to Russia and connected to our Travel Trade.
