Crimea is famous not only for its architectural monuments, but also for its monasteries \u2014 a place of residence of monks located far from the cities. One of these unique places is the world’s only Beaded temple of Anastasia Uzoreshitelnitsa.<\/p>\n
The temple is famous for its unusual decoration and decorations made of beads by parishioners and monks.<\/p>\n
The reason for the appearance of beads in panels, icons and decorations of the temple is high humidity, because of which the usual paintings did not hold on the walls. But the monks did not limit themselves to wall compositions. The beaded ensemble is complemented by a Byzantine cross on the vault and lamps decorated with beads.<\/p>\n
The bead temple appeared in the 8th<\/sup> century, scientists have made this conclusion based on the characteristic Greek crosses carved in the caves of the temple. The first settlers and founders of the cave monastery were Byzantine monks. In those years of persecution for the faith, very quickly spread the veneration of Saint Anastasia uzoreshitelnitsy, patroness of all persecuted Christians. Monasteries and temples began to appear in her honour.<\/p>\n The site was abandoned for some time. Its revival is associated with the name of Saint Innocent, who in the 19th<\/sup> century began work on restoring the Shrine. In 1850, Saint Innocent consecrated the second aisle in the Church of St. Anastasia. Services resumed, along with the restored monastery, a new church appeared by the road.<\/p>\n But less than 100 years later, the Shrine was again confronted with sad events, after the October revolution, all the property of the Church was confiscated, and the buildings were blown up.<\/p>\n In 2005, hieromonk Dorotheus, along with his associates, began to fight for the restoration of the cave temple. He could not finish what he started, \u00a0all further work was forbidden by the owner of the territory. Then it was decided to build a new temple in the old adit (horizontal or inclined mining), which later received the name of Biserny.<\/p>\n The beginning was difficult and time-consuming with one and a half kilometer hikes for water, life in dugouts, lifting building materials by hand along narrow mountain paths. But gradually, year after year, the site became more and more comfortable and now services are held here and tourists come.<\/p>\n In addition to the garden, the temple owns a large farm \u2014 twelve cows and calves. From milk, the inhabitants of the monastery learned to make sour cream, cheese, butter, curdled milk. Surplus products are sold. But this is not all. The temple has its own bakery, where pies and other baked goods are baked.
