The Church of St. Catherine was built in 1871 at the expense of the State Councilor in Feodosia, Professor V. I. Lapshin. The Church is characterized by an abundance of architectural details and decorations, brightly painted outside and inside.
The Church was built in the Russian style, and the architect lavishly decorated it with various sizes of kokoshniks, capitals and columns. The light drum is a pyramid with a small Golden dome. In the temple, the wall depicts the Sinai mountains, the monastery of Saint Catherine, and ancient Jerusalem.
The Church of Saint Catherine is a striking example of Russian architecture, it is built in the architectural traditions of the 17th century. According to the plan, the Church resembles a Greek cross and is distinguished by its refined appearance and the beauty of its interior decoration.
